Griffin signed for Stevenage in May 2009 after an impressive season with Blue Square Premier side Salisbury City. He scored over 20 goals in the BSP this season and is very highly rated. Griffin began his career in the non-league with Chippenham before signing for Swindon. He left the County Ground after just 18 months though, joining Woking after loan spells there and at Yeovil. £15,000 was spent on securing his signature and it looked money well spent as Griffin led the Cards’ forward line well for nearly 3 seasons. He scored 21 goals in 56 appearances for the Surrey side.

After leaving Woking, Griffin re-joined Chippenham before moving back into the Conference with a move to Forest Green Rovers. After a prolific season at the Lawn, he was snapped up by Wycombe where he signed a two year contract. Another loan spell at FGR and Newport County followed before a swtich to Salisbury last summer where he scored 21 goals in 45 appearances last season.

Griffin’s first season at Broadhall Way was a mixed one. He began the season slowly as he and the team adapted to each other. Soon the goals came and hat-tricks against Hayes & Yeading and Gateshead followed. Unfortunately Griffin’s season was dominated by injuries and compassionate leave. He returned for the run-in at the end of the season and played a major role in getting Boro over the finishing line. His predatory instinct could be key for Stevenage in their opening season in the football league.
