New Kit Officially Revealed (sort of)

Stevenage Borough have officially unveiled their new kit for next season. The kit looks like the one that was leaked on BoroChat a few weeks back and is due to go on sale on Thursday from the club shop. It isn’t the greatest picture to show off a new strip. Where as top Premier League clubs get star players to model their new kit, Boro have shown theirs on top of a cardboard box like it’s about to go into the wash! The PR side of things at the club is certainly one of the areas that it needs to improve upon. Boro look quite unprofessional sometimes when it comes too off the field matters.

Elsewhere, the clearance at Cambridge continues. Manager Jimmy Quinn has now left the Play-Off Finalists with the club claiming “mutual consent” as the reason for his departure. It’s rumoured that the real reason for Quinn’s departure is due to something irregular happening with Rob Wolleaston’s switch to Rushden. The timing of this also isn’t good for Cambridge. They will have to appoint someone rather quickly who will then not have much time to get a squad together for pre-season which starts again in 3 weeks time. My first thought on who will replace Quinn at the Trade Recruitment Stadium is Chris Wilder who was close to going there a few seasons back while in charge of Halifax.

There isn’t much news regarding Boro at the moment as the squad looks pretty strong as it is. A couple of positions could still possibly be filled before August with the left back position being the most likely as Fred Murray’s future still up in the air. There has been a rumour that Nicky Nicolau, who has recently left Barnet, could be on his way to Boro if he doesn’t stay in the Football League. Nicolau was a trainee at Arsenal before moving onto Southend then Swindon and has spent the last 2 seasons at Barnet.

Lastly, Zoltan Liptak, who was on loan at Broadhall Way last season, has left his parent club Southend United and moved back to Hungry for £60,000! I was never that impressed with him while he was here and it sounds like Southend thought the same.

UPDATE: The Comet have now released a better picture of the new kit. The whole strip is also now on show at the club shop.
